Using Simmerstead means accepting what follows. It is short on purpose, written to be read rather than to be impossible to read, and it says what we owe you and what we do not.
The content
The soups and stews material on this site is ours. Read it, use it, quote a line with a link back. Do not repost a page whole.
The site as it is
Expect the site to change. Pages are corrected, restructured and now and then taken down, and there is no undertaking that any URL will keep working or keep saying the same thing.
Acceptable use
- Read, print and share links freely. That is what the site is for.
- Do not scrape the site wholesale, automated or otherwise, and do not run it through a tool that republishes it elsewhere.
- Do not present our text as your own, translated or reworded.
- Do not attempt to break, overload or probe the site.
Product names
Brand and product names belong to the companies that own them. We use them to identify what we are writing about, not to suggest any association or approval.
How this fits with privacy
These terms sit next to the privacy policy and the cookie policy, which cover data and cookies respectively and are part of the same agreement.
The limits of what you read here
This is a publication, not a consultation. What you read is researched and written in good faith, but it is general by nature and no substitute for someone assessing your own case.
How reliable the numbers are
Every figure here is checked before it goes up. None of them can account for your particular kit, ingredients or conditions, so read them as a starting point rather than a guarantee.
If you comment
Anything you submit through a comment form stays your own work, and by submitting it you let us show it under the article. We delete what is abusive, irrelevant or promotional, and we do not debate the decision.
Liability
We are not liable for losses arising from the use of this site, to the extent the law allows us to say so. That covers indirect and consequential loss in particular: a decision you take after reading an article is your decision, and its outcome is not something a publisher can underwrite.
Sites we link to
Where a source is worth reading we link to it. Those sites are run by other people and we answer for none of their content.
How the site is funded
How the site pays for itself, advertising and affiliate links, is set out in full on the affiliate disclosure page rather than summarised here.
Law and severability
United States law governs these terms. Should any single provision fail in court, the remainder stands. Statutory consumer rights that cannot be signed away are not affected by anything above.
Scope of these terms
This page and the two policies it references are the full agreement between us. There is no side arrangement, and no conversation elsewhere alters what is written here.
Revisions
We may revise these terms; whatever is published here is what governs. There is no separate notice sent out, which is why the current text always lives at this address rather than in an email you might have missed.
